Is the software updated regularly? Are updates free?

Yes. CR Max P includes lifetime free Wi-Fi software upgrades. No annual subscription required.

What's the difference between CR Max P and the CR MAX BT?

CR Max P is the update version of CR MAX BT. Hardware upgrade: 10-inch touchscreen, Android OS, Quad-Core processor, 1GB RAM + 64GB storage, 10000mAh battery. Protocol upgrade: CR Max P is standard-equipped with RJ45 Network Cable, F-Chassis and USB2.0-to-Network Cable for the DoIP protocol. More advanced functions will be added to CR Max P over time. → See the full comparison table above.

AutoVIN can't recognize my vehicle — is the device faulty?

Not necessarily. Send your VIN to our support team and we'll confirm AutoVIN compatibility within 24 hours. In the meantime, you can manually select your vehicle model — all diagnostic functions will still work normally. We'll add your VIN to our database in the next update.

DTCs read fine but won't clear, or reappear after clearing — why?

Keep ignition on and engine off. Record freeze frame data before clearing codes. Persistent hardware faults need physical repair prior to code clearance. Some fault codes (SRS, ABS) can only be cleared after finishing bidirectional tests.

How do I pair the Bluetooth VCI?

Step 1 — Insert the VCI into the vehicle OBD port, turn ignition to ON.Step 2 — Enable Bluetooth on tablet, search and connect "CR Max P VCI".Step 3 — A green VCI icon means successful pairing.Step 4 — Select Bluetooth connection to start diagnosis.
