What's the difference between LR V4.0 and the older LR V3.0?
LR V4.0 is the update version of LR V3.0. Vehicle make coverage expansion: LR V4.0 enables users to download two extra vehicle make groups. Hardware upgrade: LR V4.0 features upgraded hardware (5-inch touchscreen, Android OS, Quad-Core processor, 64GB storage, 5000mAh battery).
The LR V4.0 cannot recognize my vehicle by AutoVIN, does it mean the device is faulty?
Not at all. AutoVIN depends on individual vehicle ECU protocols. If AutoVIN skips your car, simply use the Manual Selection mode — all diagnostic and service functions will work perfectly. Meanwhile, please send your VIN to our support team; we will verify it and add it to our database in the next software update.
DTCs can be read normally but fail to be cleared or reappear after clearance, why?
Please keep ignition on and engine off. Record freeze frame data first before clearing codes. Persistent hardware faults need physical repair prior to code clearance. Some fault codes of systems like SRS and ABS can only be cleared after finishing bidirectional tests.
The scanner powers on but fails to establish a diagnostic connection. What causes this issue?
Check vehicle compatibility — ensure your vehicle is a Jaguar/Land Rover (1996-2025) or one of your 2 downloaded vehicle groups. Disable any eco/battery-saving modes on the vehicle that might shut down modules during diagnosis. Connect to Wi-Fi and update both the firmware and vehicle software to the latest versions. Ensure the vehicle key is turned to the "ON" position.
Does the LR V4.0 work on my Range Rover?
Yes, absolutely! The LR V4.0 offers deep, dealer-level diagnostic coverage for the entire Range Rover family, including the Range Rover Vogue, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Range Rover Velar across all major production years.
