CAN-FD (Controller Area Network – Flexible Data-rate) is a next-generation automotive communication protocol adopted by Mercedes-Benz starting from 2020.
The iCarsoft MB V4.0 bidirectional scan tool supports active component testing and full bidirectional control for most vehicle modules. It sends custom commands and retrieves real-time data to execute targeted functions, including window, mirror, and door lock testing, as well as throttle adjustment — allowing you to pinpoint faults quickly. While ordinary OBD scanners only read fault codes and give limited clues, the MB V4.0 goes further with full bidirectional capability. You can directly command individual components: cycle the ABS pump motor, operate window regulators, activate the fuel pump, control throttle opening, and run output tests on almost all onboard modules. Identify the faulty part in minutes — without relying on trial-and-error.
