P2016 Code: Intake Manifold Position Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1)

1. What Does P2016 Mean?
P2016 stands for "Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Bank 1."
The Intake Manifold Position Sensor usually works on a 5V Reference Circuit. The ECU sends out 5 Volts and expects the sensor to return a signal between 0.5V and 4.5V depending on the flap angle.
Circuit Low means the ECU is receiving a signal near 0 Volts. It thinks the sensor wire is "grounded out" or the sensor has completely failed to conduct electricity.
