Stop driving for severe power loss, loud detonation, smoke, a burning odor, overheating, a loose intake duct near moving parts, or intake/charge components that are deforming. Those signs indicate more than a minor plausibility fault.

Work safely. Intake, turbocharger and charge-air components can be hot or pressurized. Keep tools and clothing away from belts and fans, and never probe a live circuit with an unsuitable test light.
